WHO WE ARE

Bread and Blankets was founded in 2026 with a simple but urgent mission: to provide food, warmth, and dignity to people experiencing homelessness in Canada.

On any given night in Canada, nearly 60,000 people are without a safe place to sleep. Over the course of a year, more than 235,000 Canadians may experience some form of homelessness. Thousands face harsh winter temperatures without adequate shelter, warm clothing, or reliable access to food.

Homelessness is not just about housing. It is about hunger. It is about exposure. It is about survival.

Bread and Blankets exists to respond to that reality with direct, practical action.

We provide nourishing food to individuals facing food insecurity. We distribute blankets and cold-weather essentials to protect against freezing temperatures. We mobilize volunteers and community partners to ensure that help reaches people where they are, on the streets, in shelters, and in transitional spaces.

We believe that no one should go hungry. No one should endure winter without warmth. And no one should be stripped of dignity because of circumstance.

Our work is rooted in compassion, transparency, and community. Every meal served and every blanket distributed represents more than relief,  it represents human connection.

This is not charity for optics.

This is action for survival.

Bread and Blankets is building a movement of people who believe that basic human needs are not optional.

We are just beginning. And we are committed to showing up consistently, responsibly, and with purpose for those who need it most.
